Patricia A. Stevens, Ph.D.

I am a licensed psychologist for over 30 years and an Advanced Consultant of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. My training includes: a Post-graduate Certificate in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis from NYU Postdoctoral Program; training with the National Institute of Clinical and Behavioral Medicine; trauma training; and cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe in the power of the mind and body working together to heal the self. My specialties include mind-body medicine, trauma, anxiety and depression. In my private practice I work with adults and couples for a variety of issues. Some issues involve relationship difficulties, reversing self defeating habits, fears and phobias as well as peak performance in sports and other areas. My offices are in NYC in Greenwich Village and Park Slope, Brooklyn.

I retired from a Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) where I specialized in post-traumatic stress disorder with combat veterans. My practice includes support in the NYC Police Organization Providing Peer Assistance for impaired police officers (POPPA). I have been a past president of Section V of the American Psychological Association, Director of Psychological Training of the Brooklyn VAMC, past-president of Northeast Psychological Associates, and have been a faculty member of the Brooklyn Institute for Psychotherapy and the Suffolk Institute for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
