Dianne M. Polowczyk, Ph.D.

Dr. Polowczyk is a licensed psychologist with over 27 years experience. She received her doctorate in Clinical, School, and Community Psychology from Hofstra University.

She has advanced training in family therapy from the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy and in couples therapy from the Imago Institute. Her specialties include individual, family, and couples therapy and the treatment of depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, work issues and self defeating behaviors. She has extensive experience in working with families of the mentally ill, helping parents cope with acting-out teenagers, and helping individuals cope with a family member's addiction.

For many years Dr. Polwczyk worked as an Occupational Psychologist at Brookhaven National Laboratory where she helped employees cope with stress on the job, downsizing issues, career development, and impediments to overall job satisfaction.

Dr. Polowczyk is past president of Nassau County Psychological Association, Past President of New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA) and is currently NYSPA's representative to the American Psychological Association's Council of Representatives. Dr. Polowczyk chaired the Psychologically Healthy Workplace Committee of NYSPA for several years which presented awards throughout New York State to companies that created psychologically healthy work environments for their employees.
